The 3-piece fine bone china Petrushka set is a true work of art! Petrushka is one of the most striking ballets of Igor Stravinsky. Its music is so amazingly vivid and expressive, that one need not even look at the stage to know what is going on. Ballet's script was co-written by Stravinsky, S. Dyagilev, and A. Benois, while M. Fokine choreographed it. Most people agree, that choreography in Petrushka became the pinnacle of Fokine's work, aided by the fact that the starring role of Petrushka was performed by V. Nijinsky, widely considered to be the greatest male ballet dancer of the early 20th century.L. Tsvetkova, the creator of the this set's design, is a multi-talented professional, equally great at painting porcelain tableware, as well as porcelain sculptures. Tsvetkova is working at reviving some of the great traditions of the Russian Imperial porcelain, such as the XVIII century technique, called "leaf-to-leaf," using the absolutely unique in its whiteness and plasticity bone china mass.
